DAP Sages of Protest is our way of sharing space with those whom we admire for their wisdom, experience, and respective movement work. Our hope is to learn about and from their journeys in fighting for design justice—the good, the bad, the hardship, and the joy.
We are honored to welcome Mabel O. Wilson to our DAP collective space on Monday, 3/8, at 4pm PST/ 5pm MST / 6pm CST/ 7pm EST to share space, insights, and community as part of our weekly gathering.
Mabel O. Wilson is trained in Architecture and American Studies, and is a professor, author, editor, curator, research director, and firm principal. With her practice Studio &, she is a collaborator in the architectural team that recently completed the Memorial to Enslaved African American Laborers at the University of Virginia. Our design justice work builds from the foundations Mabel has created through her investigations of space, politics and cultural memory in black America; race and modern architecture; and new technologies and the social production of space. So join us on Zoom at 4pm PST/ 5pm MST / 6pm CST/ 7pm EST!
The event is open to the Design As Protest BIPOC Community. We will have audio and video capabilities. We can look into closed captioning, if requested. Please reach out to Fauzia for accommodation needs.
